Turbine stealth-launched the Harvestmath Festival today, so I rushed Arwellyn up to the Bree Festival Grounds to quickly run the race for the Harvestmath Horse! Won the race on the first attempt, even!
The Harvestmath Festival runs from today until October 13.
I say the festival was stealth-launched because, as of this writing, Turbine still has not yet officially announced the festival on either the site or the forums. Codemasters announced the festival for the European players. Perhaps it’s a time zone thing, and Turbine is waiting until closer to 5pm EDT whereas it’s already late evening in the EU? Just a guess. Anyway, I’ll edit this and put a link whenever Turbine announces it for the NA crowd. [Edit: The announcement is up, and the link added to the first paragraph.]
In other LOTRO news, I recently parked my two part-time alts, a captain and hunter, so that I could work up a minstrel for end-game grouping. If I am absolutely unable to find a group with Arwellyn, or if she’s locked out of an instance, minstrels are nearly always in demand. I got her to level 26 this morning, so I’m making progress at least. I’d rolled the character quite some time ago as an emergency mule, not intending to play her so she’s a hobbit. I’m getting used to the camera angles and the shortie (or “stuntie” for you WAR folk) perspective, but I really wish Turbine’s GM’s would change her to human for me. No other changes, just the race… Come to think of it, if I’d known I’d actually play the minstrel, I probably would have made it male as well although this fits with my typical 50/50 rule. I now have two male characters and two female characters. In WAR, both are male and I don’t really have any intention of doing one of the female classes. Then again, I’m not currently planning on having any other characters at all in WAR…

Thank you for reporting the fact about the fall festival! I now have my festival horse.
And you do not want a female in WAR. One of the few games with UGLIER women than LOTRO (lol)
If the women in LOTRO did not have shelved breasts, huge hands and had a little more attention to their facial detail, they would look awesome as well.
But, OMG, the Women of WAR, well…dang …nasty looking (except for the Dark Elf female, but they are half dressed, so you get the paper bag syndrome….i.e: not looking at their faces)
Glad you found your classes in WAR. But honestly, do you feel like putting as much time into WAR as LOTRO when you play, or do you feel you play WAR more hours…etc.
Cheers
I didn’t touch WAR at all on Friday because I’ve already come to the opinion that because it’s so dependent on having a population to get anything done that it’s just not worthwhile to play during the day and be bored out of my skull alone. Unfortunately, during the day is when I have the most time available for gaming. So, right now it seems that given my style and hours of play the best WAR could hope for would be as a secondary game, regardless if I already had a primary game or not. If I have a group activity in LOTRO, that will win over WAR. If I can’t get anything going and really, really want to do group content then I’ll login to WAR.
That’s my opinion this morning, so it could change by this afternoon…
Feel free to look me up! Granted, I’m on an rp server now and that may not be your cup of tea — but I do play day time hours.
